What is the stock market?

The stock market is where shares of publicly traded companies are bought and sold. It's less a single physical place and more a network of exchanges and buyers and sellers agreeing on prices throughout the day. In the Philippines, that network is the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), and every trade has to pass through a broker licensed by the PSE and registered with the SEC; individuals can't place an order on the exchange directly.
